Thunderpants organic cotton and spandex fabric is super stretchy, comfy and easy-fit. There’s no nasty, scratchy elastic that digs in. They are the ultimate comfy, easy-fit undie.
The flat fronted original, hipster and sky rise styles all have the same fit through the leg and butt varying in height. The hipster is low waisted, the original sits around the navel and the sky rise is high waisted.
The flat fronted boxer is a hipster fit with a short boy leg.
See the size guide below to help you choose the right size. If you happen to fall between the measurements, don’t panic! We recommend going up rather than down a size.....they will last longer and be more comfortable if not stretched too far.
The swimwear also follows this standard New Zealand sizing.
This chart includes all styles in the adult range that are not a pouch front but does not include the Cotton Drill A line skirts whose size chart is included in the product description.

Flat Fronted Hipster vs Original/Sky Rise?
These styles are exactly the same in every way except the hipster is shorter in the waist than the original or sky rise. Those of us that have a bit of a tummy roll may wish to choose the original or sky high style as they cover the tummy.
Pouch fronted Boxer vs Brief?
The pouch front boxer is the closer fit option. If you like everything snug with a fitted boxer leg then opt for the boxer. For those that prefer a looser fit, stick with the brief.

What about the kids?
This guide is based on many years of Thunderpants sales. As all children are different we suggest you go with your own intuition a little here. Thunderpants are very accommodating and tend to grow with your child so some children will wear their small undies well into the medium size range. Remember when your child outgrows the children's range they can move into the smaller adults sizes.

The original comfy socks that wont dig in, can be worn softly pushed down to the ankle or pulled up to your lower calf a wee way. Sized small (EUR 35-39), medium (EUR 38-42) and large (EUR 41-46). If you sit over two sizes, go up a size if you like a looser fit or go down a size if you like a more snug fitting sock. Thunderpants socks have been tested on humans and deemed safe to wear, so go right ahead and enjoy them.

Thunderpants socks are 70% merino, 25% nylon and 5% spandex to give them that super comfy, soft stretchy feel. The ribbing is constructed using the same knitting tension and content eliminating the nasty, grippy elastic feeling socks can sometimes give, all adding to the enjoyment of your sock wearing experience. These socks are made locally and lovingly in New Zealand.

To preserve the vibrant colours and life of the fabric we suggest you do not soak or bleach your Thunderpants items. Use a gentle detergent in a cold machine wash and dry your Thunderpants on the line, not in the drier.

Just like the other pair I reviewed recently, these fine merino socks look swish, feel swisher, and are great for many miles of walking or just lounging around the place. I really like my ThunderSocks almost as much as I like my ThunderPants. Maybe more. Maybe the same. Argh, what a dilemma ! Just like the whole portfolio, the sustainable packaging and materials you use are an extra bonus for me and everything just fit & feel great. The stripy design with the flashes of colour are awesome.
I liked my previously purchased ThunderPants thicker woollen socks, but these fine merino ones are beautiful ... just beautiful. They are SO comfy and there's so far absolutely zero shrinkage, fading or de-shaping after several loving wears and washes. Make more of these ThunderGang, they're fantastic. Love them !!!
Love the look - got a matching pair for my adult son. Four-star only because I generally like a thicker sock (full-time boot-wearer here). If however, you love a thin sock, I can’t see any reason for them not being a 5!
These socks are excellent quality and so soft. Small says to fit 35-39... I’m a size 5 and unfortunately they’re too big for me. I would buy again if they were smaller? Otherwise I would say would better fit 36 or even 37 and up?🙁

The socks should shrink down a bit after a wash in a washing machine, they will only stretch back out to the size of your foot, give that a go and let us know if they still don't work for you. I have a person in my household that has a similar sized foot as you and she wears them well so hopefully they haven't been miss labelled. Ngā mihi The Team @ TPHQ
