The Pohutukawa is often referred to as the New Zealand native Christmas tree because it has vibrant red flowers that are at their peak mid to late December. This Pohutukawa design is from an original linoprint by Australian artist Neil Mattila. Neil very kindly donated his fee to Project Crimson who over the last 26 years have been replanting Pohutukawa and its closely related cousin Rata, along with many other native trees throughout New Zealand.

'The Pohutukawa design was inspired by a visit to the North Island of New Zealand. I explore print making through the mediums of intaglio etching, vinyl-linocut prints, monotype prints, pastels and watercolours. The inspiration for my designs comes from my observations and travels.'

  • The Mens Fitted Boxer is sized small to extra large and is a closer fit than the Mens Original style. This is the option to choose if your like your undies be snug with a short leg. The front gusset is shaped and double layered for extra comfort, containment and help provide shapely lines - good for when you are gadding about in just your Thunderpants.

  • The Thunderpants fabric is 90% organically grown cotton and 10% spandex to give it that super comfy, soft stretchy feel. The waist band is made of softly knitted elastic adding to the enjoyment of your Thunderpants experience. All the garments are made locally and lovingly in New Zealand.

  • To preserve the vibrant colours and life of the fabric we suggest you do not soak or bleach your Thunderpants items. Use a gentle detergent in a cold machine wash and dry your Thunderpants on the line, not in the drier.

Your Thunderpants are not only super comfy but they are designed to withstand some pretty staunch stuff, so get into them and get on out there!
