The Adults Pouch Boxer have a double layered pouched area providing extra room in the front. Because it is double layered it does act as a gusset, although it doesn't reach quite as far back as our flat fronted styles. These ones are made from a Merino mix and have a longer leg than the usual ones. Great for tramping and such.

NB: These used to be called Mens Fitted Boxers and have now got an extra bit of height added through the bum. Photo of model is wearing SHORT leg version, these have a LONG leg, see table for measurements.

  • The Thunderpants fabric is 81% merino, 12% Nylon and 7% elastane, it is 180grams. The waist band is made of softly knitted elastic adding to the enjoyment of your Thunderpants experience. All the garments are made locally and lovingly in New Zealand.

Flat Fronted Hipster vs Original/Sky Rise?

These styles are exactly the same in every way except the hipster is shorter in the waist than the original or sky rise. Those of us that have a bit of a tummy roll may wish to choose the original or sky high style as they cover the tummy.

Pouch fronted Boxer vs Original?

The pouch front boxer is the closer fit option. If you like everything snug with a fitted boxer leg then opt for the boxer. For those that prefer a looser fit brief, stick with the original.

What about the kids?

This guide is based on many years of Thunderpants sales. As all children are different we suggest you go with your own intuition a little here. Thunderpants are very accommodating and tend to grow with your child so some children will wear their small undies well into the medium size range. Remember when your child outgrows the children's range they can move into the smaller adults sizes.
